Fire-safe trussesSEPA fire-safe truss is a nail plate truss entity which meets unprotected the 30 minute fire resistance requirement in relation to the construction load bearing capacity, i.e. requirement R30 (VTT statement NRO RTE 585/04). Important: Before sending an offer request, the main construction design engineer must note the following basic requirements of a fire-safe truss: - If a roof truss is used as the load bearing member of the roof covering, the rafter must be buckle supported also in a fire situation => size of the roofing batten approx. 75 x 100 mm, c/c1200 (at least a part of battens).
- Although the trusses are dimensioned for R30 load, the suspended ceiling must still be partitioned from underneath E130, i.e. it requires a double plaster board for the tie beam (reason: lower part and hollow space are different partitions).
- All the buckling supports must be fire dimensioned.
- Approximately half of the stiffening constructions must be fire dimensioned and protected.
