Rafter is a nail plate construction formed from two or three pieces of wood. Rafters are commonly used in so called topwood dwellings. They are also being used in increasing numbers in open car shelters of apartment buildings as substitutes for glued beams. It is possible to machine for example support cut outs, eave forms and gutter sections to the rafters already at the truss factory. Up to 6000 mm span lengths are possible with c/c 900 mm support division. Even longer span lengths in special cases are possible by a denser c/c division.
