The attic frame truss is an easy way of obtaining some more room space in a half-storey building.
The length of the bottom chord can be up to 11 metres. When using an attic frame truss, the building must have one or two loadbearing intermediate walls. In addition, the main structural engineer must ensure that together with the truss, the surface structure of the floor complies with the vibration requirements of RIL 120, the Finnish design code for timber structures. The main structural engineer can always contact our technical assistance service, if he or she requires further information or other technical data.
When completing the final order for an attic frame truss, we will require the truss diagrams drawn by the structural design engineer, a floor plan and preferably also the elevation drawings.
